Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) (OS0083)

  • Registration Fee

    $0.00

Full Description

What is CIT: CIT is a 40 hr week long course that provides a foundation to promote participants understanding of mental health disorders as well as typical behavioral issues that accompany these disorders. The course prepares participants to recognize and deescalate individuals they encounter who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.  Our CIT course uses mental health professionals and law enforcement for instruction and coaching as well as paid professional actors to provide reality based training.

Why CIT: The lack of mental health crisis services across the U.S. has resulted in law enforcement officers serving as first responders to most crises.  Our CIT course promotes knowledge and skill building to respond with an innovative, community-based approach to improve the outcomes of these encounters.

What to bring: You will only need to bring a writing instrument.
