Full Description

Performance Objectives:

  1. Students will discuss and demonstrate firearms safety and how it applies both to the classroom and on the range between dry drill practice and live fire drills
  2. Students will discuss and have an understanding of the four rules of firearms safety
  3. Students will discuss, demonstrate and teach various aspects of weapon management, malfunction clearances and reloads of the AR15 platform
  4. Students will discuss, demonstrate and instruct other students in proper movements and tactics when deploying the AR15 rifle/carbine
  5. Students will discuss, demonstrate and instruct other students various aspects of flashlight holds, weapon mounted lights and the use of artificial lighting during dim light hours
  6. Students will have an understanding in Proper Zeroing and Minute of Angle as it relates to the AR15 rifle/carbine
  7. Students will discuss, understand and teach Use of Force as it relates to CRS 18-1-701 and case law surrounding the Use of Force
  8. Students will discuss and have an understanding of Training Liability and the benefit of proper documentation 
  9. Students will discuss, demonstrate and evaluate other students in their performance while using the AR15 rifle/carbine
  10. Students will discuss and have an understanding of the importance in Lesson Plan development to include preparing and submitting Lesson Plans and courses of fire
