Handgun Reflex Sight Instructor 

October 24th -26th, 2022 (24 hours) 

Course Description (24 hours):

The student will obtain the skill and knowledge to instruct other law enforcement officers in the use of reflex (red dot) sights as a primary sighting instrument for their duty handgun.  Students will obtain the knowledge to develop and implement a reflex sight transition program and an in-service training program for their agency.

The cost for this training class is covered under the Colorado Peace Officer Standard & (POST) Training Grant provided to the Central Mountain Training Region (CMTR). There is no cost for Colorado State Certified Peace officers to attend.  Non-Cert. Officers may attend this class; however, they cannot displace a certified Peace Officer.  Non-Sworn Officers are not confirmed a seat in the class until 12 working days from the start of the class.  At this time, we will make every attempt to fill all training seats with both sworn and non-sworn personnel. Please watch the web site for conformation in the class.  CMTR has priority. CMTR will provide the ammunition and dummy rounds for this training.

Class Details

Each student attending this class is expected to bring with them the following

Duty handgun w/ reflex sight       

Duty belt / holster / 3 magazines

Hat, ear protection, eye protection



Rain/Cold Weather Gear

Lap Top Computer * (class material will be provided on a thumb drive)
